Kathy: My name’s Kathy. My property that I’ve just sold is 10 Katrina Avenue at Rochedale South with Red Rocket.
Before we decided to sell, we did bring other agencies to come out and have a look at our house but then Red Rocket put a brochure in the mail and I thought I’d give them a call and went with them. I just wanted to sell it as is and did not want to do anything. The other agency were saying, “You need to do this and that,” we’re looking at anywhere about $10,000 to do that and we didn’t. So, that’s why we went with Red Rocket. They didn’t want us to do that.
What I liked about Red Rocket was that they weren’t pushy and I didn’t have to pay anything up front to get my house on the market. Rajen was a good salesperson, he talked it so we would see if he could walk it and he did.
I think the guarantee was if I didn’t sell it within a time frame, there was no money to be given over which was great. That’s what I really liked. Probably about 30 years ago I saw the house, before we put it on the market, my husband and I were so nervous but as it turned out, there was no need to be worried because it just happened. So, it was good.
I didn’t want open inspections at all. The price that we sold our house for is exactly what we wanted. Compared to the other real estates, we probably got it 30,000 more to what they would say that we would. I know one house in particular, we were $100,000 more on the same street. It was a bonus to have the right real estate involved in it.
Kathy: The timeframe to sell our home was, November was when we actually signed up. It was only 21 days from the time that we put the photos on the internet, which was January, it was sold in February. It was way quicker than I thought it would sell. I was hoping it would take a little bit longer because we had a time frame to be out of here.
So we wanted to sell our house more private than most people because we haven’t told our workplace yet what we were doing and that we were going to leave.
Red Rocket quoted us high fives for our house which I still thought was a good price. I wanted mid sixes for my house, which I tried and then I thought, “Oh, maybe it’s a little bit too high because it does need some work,” but we got 620’s for our house so I am so happy.
The reason I know I got a good price was because the house three houses up from my house here was sold for $100,000 less than what I am. Same size block, it had an in ground pool whereas mine’s above ground, high set and yeah, they got jipped. We got the good price.
